that adjunct faculty member of Color you loved so much (or didnt or who you knew abt but never took a class w/but who you saw b/c they were one of the only faculty members of Color), they are disposable and NO protections for many esp. at private schools.

and i speak from experience. adjuncts do the same work to build and teach courses, sometimes more, than full faculty members. many of us who are of Color, have disabilities, working class or any other form of “difference” have MORE work b/c students have various needs, connects, requests, support that they see we may be able to offer/gift/share/refer but the older, whiter, wealthier, able-bodied, cis, etc. may not even be an option b/c of issues of safety, comfort, power-over, etc.
