There are plenty of things in life I can’t be regardless of how much I may feel that I relate to them.

- a bird
- a car
- a computer
- a dog
- a newborn again
- John Stamos’ left testical
- a different race/ethnicity

I’m going to talk about that last one.

There are a lot of people who identify very strongly with their race/ethnicity.  It’s a huge part of who they are, and they have pride.

A black man who grew up poor in Harlem and had to join a gang just to be able to eat and provide some money for his family has an entirely different set of experiences from a Japanese man who grew up in a wealthy family in Tokyo with no oppression.

Now, if that Japanese man liked the exact same things as “most black people do” in his eyes, and felt in his heart of hearts that he identified as “being black”, and wanted people to acknowledge that even though he looks Japanese, he’s actually African American… would anyone take that seriously?  Should anyone take that seriously?

No, because it’s just not correct.  You can’t just say you are something that you aren’t because you lack the understand and experience to make that claim.

It’s insulting to the black man’s experiences and to the community’s collective experiences to have a Japanese man from Tokyo saying he understands them and IS one of them, and they should accept that and treat him as such.

This is no different than what transgender people do.

The feeling that you are something that you are not, no matter how strong, is biased, based on stereotypes, socialization, and distorted, and it’s an insult to whatever group it is that you’re claiming to be a part of.

- Person 2.

hahahHAHAHA I’M SORRY WHAT

since when are race/ethnicity the same thing as gender? how are they even remotely the same?

and also, you call yourselves the “trans truth”? you don’t know shit. get the fuck out.

see, this is why white people shouldn’t be allowed near topics of race/ethnicity outside of their own experience.

and let’s be honest, the only “trans-ethnic” wanna be assholes are white anyway. and if you think that is in anyway, remotely close to gender, who the hell gave you a keyboard?

Aw look, it took all of two days for thetranstruth to fail utterly in other areas. Which is no big surprise, really.

As if trans* people of color don’t exist. And aren’t the most at risk of the community due to the intersection of racism and transmisogyny. As if there weren’t completely different concepts of gender that defy the binary that thetranstruth is so committed to that exist in non-white cultures. As if those concepts haven’t been violently attacked during the process of colonialization and cissexism used as an additional tool of colonialist control.

thetranstruth, you are really showing your ass here, and are proving nothing to anyone except the depths of your ignorance. How does it feel to contribute to multiple levels of oppression? Are you really getting some sort of satisfaction out of this?
