Two of the bills original sponsors, John McCain and Orrin Hatch, voted against the bill…and one wonders why, especially in McCain’s case, given the fact that he recently won reelection and doesn’t have to pretend to be a troglodyte...

What, exactly, does this “secure border” that opponents of the DREAM act want prior to voting for it look like?
Is it like a supermax prison? Will we be able to leave? Just how thoroughly searched are we all going to be?

It appears that Manning may be a trans woman not wishing her current picture being attached to stories about her. It’s unclear, but please read the story, pass it along, and keep it in mind. That puts a whole other piece into their imprisonment and treatment.
The article has some problematic framing and is definitely written from a very privileged perspective. Still worth keeping...
